Prince Mohammad Bin Fahd University (PMU) is actively incorporating sustainability proactiveness into its learning models to prepare graduates for the challenges of climate change and the rest of the UN SDGs. What are the university's sustainability goals for the future?
As a proactive step towards environmental stewardship and responsible resource utilization, PMU developed a comprehensive master plan for sustainability to achieve by 2030. This positions PMU at the forefront of eco-conscious campuses, aligning with the best practices of leading universities.
The sustainability plan includes carbon neutrality “zero net carbon footprint”, reducing emissions through enhanced energy efficiency and transitioning to renewable energy sources.
Our goal is achieving a zero-waste campus, revolutionizing waste management by prioritizing reduction, reuse, and recycling. This includes comprehensive waste audits, robust recycling programs, and educational campaigns to minimize waste generation.
PMU’s sustainable infrastructure mandates that all future construction and refurbishments meet the highest standards of green certifications like LEED and BREEAM, focusing on sustainable design, operational efficiency, and environmental integration.

PMU has emerged as a leader in AI through several key strategic initiatives and investments.
