Back to our roots
Introducing the QS Insights Magazine, a new, monthly resource for professional development and institutional success.
Welcome to the first edition of the QS Insights Magazine!
As we’ve teased in the past few editions of the Higher Ed Report and QS-GEN publication and newsletters, this is a new, monthly magazine to provide you with insights to help you meet your career goals and meet institutional success. The Insights Magazine absorbs both the GEN and Higher Ed Report publications into one resource; we will still put out calls for industry essays and continue to feature Rankings results as they come out.
This magazine has been several years in the making and the first edition will be released just after Valentine’s Day, the anniversary of when I first moved to Singapore in 2020. Like everyone, we’ve been forced to experiment and do things differently over the past three years. QS Insights Magazine is the culmination of those experiences, and marks a subtle shift in content direction. As its name implies, the aim of the magazine is to provide insight into trends and happenings in international education as well as the impact of news events. We are taking a data-driven and slow news approach to give you not only the facts but their context.
A new name, a new direction, and finally a new platform. As we experimented with the publications and the conferences, it became clear that we were taking a course similar to one universities are often criticised for. We had a magazine that was online, but we weren’t creating an online magazine. We think there’s a clear difference between the two and are delighted to be able to offer you this digital-ready platform for you to read on your desktop, tablet or phone. There are many more exciting things to come.
While many things have changed, many more have stayed the same. The cover feature of the first edition of the QS Insights Magazine, The Fundamentals, reflects both how universities are getting back to basics on student engagement, and our editorial team getting back to the foundations of publishing and insight-led content.
We look forward to sharing the journey with you.
Stay safe out there.
